Book 4 from a series of 5 titles by Roy Bennett, written to fire pupils with an enthusiasm for some of the fantasy, drama and excitement from the the world of music. Throughout series, pieces are introduced from many different composers from 18th century through to the present day. Each piece is based on an adventure accompanied by helpful illustrations and imaginative stories which include brief details and portraits of composers. Any unusual instruments are illustrated. This is excellent material for the National Curriculum, presenting key ideas and providing an excellent range of music for pupils to listen to and appraise, as well as developing their own knowledge of our musical heritage.
