Guitar Lessons for beginners

The guitar is a great instrument to learn. Not only is it easy to start making music right away, the resources online for the guitarist is huge. Once you know the basics you can choose whichever path you would like to take and have a w hole online community helping you.

There is no substitute for a good guitar teacher though and this is why I am a firm believer that guitar lessons are an essential starting block for any wannabe guitarist. Guitar lessons will ensure that you are practising the right techniques as learning something incorrectly at the beginning could make it a lot tougher for you later on – old habits die hard and this is especially true when learning the guitar. A guitar tutor will be able to identify these potential bad habits from the start and put you on the right track for the future.

Guitar lessons for beginners are offered either as part of the RGT course which works up to an exam for each stage of learning. Alternatively, lessons can be worked around you, the student, learning theory and techniques by learning songs that you want to learn. Often the latter is preferred by students, however, the router you take is entirely your choice.

Intermediate to Advanced Guitar Lessons

Learning the guitar on your own is great and can be immensely rewarding. It is also very easy to become stuck in a rut or confused about a particular aspect. This can become very frustrating and perhaps a time that guitar lessons could help you out.

Guitar lessons can assist you in learning scales and modes as well as improvising and techniques.

Olly’s Lessons

I run my guitar lessons from my home in Corfe Mullen. I am happy to teach electric or acoustic guitar. All you would need to bring is your guitar and lead if applicable, as all amplification will be provided.

Depending on the course of learning you choose to take it maybe necessary for books to be purchased to accompany your guitar lessons. Should this be the case then you would need to pay the additional amount for these.

Guitar lessons can be either weekly or fortnightly to suit your needs. Generally fortnightly is preferred by most but it is entirely up to you.

Lessons are 45 minutes long and the current charge in £20 per lesson. Discounts can be given if lessons are purchased in bulk.

Important Note

I enjoy taking on and teaching dedicated students. To learn the guitar you need to have time dedicated to learning, as you will not master the guitar from my lessons alone. Regular and consistent practice is required. If you are prepared to put in 20 – 30 minutes per day or more then I am happy to teach you. If you feel that this is too much then please contact me when you can put in this time.
